Our bus arrived at 3:00 this morning. Auntie T was already awake and cooking for Uncle J's birthday. Cz's mom stayed up to keep her company while Cz, Lolo, and I all went to bed. People were going to be coming over at 5:00 to sing 'Happy Birthday' and say birthday prayers for Uncle J. We expected to be woken up to join in, but Cz's mom told us that it was OK to stay in bed. At least that's what I heard. Cz slept through Cz's mom coming in and out of the room, the singing, even the consumption of an early morning feast. The feast was supposed to include lechon (roast pig at 5:00AM - oy!), but when they went to pick it up, it was still raw. Even pig-roasters have to sleep sometimes!
After the birthday visitors left at around 6:30, Cz's mom came in looking for laundry. I passed her our clothes. Cz continued sleeping.
At around 10:00 Cz and I finally made our way downstairs. We picked our way through the ample leftovers from the party feast . We spent a lazy rest of the day reading, blogging, and playing with PI. (Cz's littlest niece/cousin) Cz's mom took a well-deserved nap.
